“In my final speech I gave when I left the school, I recalled something Père was always saying, that you don’t want to be dead at twenty-five, but still live until you’re ninety. Part of it, to me, is that life is very simple. We just complicate it. Have a strong keel and a good moral compass and live your life. Excellence is part of it, and that’s part of what Notre Dame does for kids.”
