Hounds Hockey Appoints New Female Hockey Coordinator

Athol Murray College of Notre Dame is excited to announce that Sarah (Howald) Hodges is the new Female Hockey Coordinator at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame. Sarah is a Notre Dame alumnus and most recently served as the founder and Head Coach for Women’s Hockey at the University of Regina.

The selection of Hodges comes after an extensive search for the best coach to build on the strong foundation and rich tradition of excellence in female hockey at Notre Dame. Wade Klippenstein, Notre Dame’s Director of Hockey Development said of the hiring “Coach Hodges brings the perfect blend of experience, professionalism, and passion to Notre Dame. Our student-athletes will immediately benefit from her strong history with the game of hockey and the boarding school lifestyle". 

Hodges had an outstanding career as a student athlete at Notre Dame and followed that with an award-winning career at Dartmouth University earning all-Ivy designations in both hockey and track and field. Following her playing career, Hodges served as the first Head Coach for the University of Regina and has coached provincial and national women’s hockey teams including coaching the Canadian U 18 Woman’s team.”
